Dr. Mahdy holds a degree in Civil Engineering from Mansoura University (1985) and PhD in Structural Engineering, Joint supervision between City University, UK and Mansoura University, Egypt (1999). After graduation he worked for Arab office for design and engineering consulting on civil engineering projects. He joined the staff of Mansoura University in 1993. His main teaching and research interests are in structures and materials. He is a reviewer for international Journal in structural material. He is also supervision on several theses of Master and doctor of Philosophy in structural engineering. He is author or co-author of about 20 publications and was also contributor to text books. He is a consultant in quality control and testing structures. He is also OSHA trainer for general industrial and construction. Moreover, he has a NEBOSH international Certificate. His research interests is computer modeling of concrete mixtures, Crack repair method, fracture mechanics of concrete, FRP sheets for repair and strengthening and predict the properties of mechanical properties using Neural network.
